-Are you happy with the time you took from Froome?
-Our strategy was clear: I thought about attacking at that moment, in order to gain more advantage. I obtained a small advantage, so we will try again if the opportunity arises. I thought the differences would be bigger. We did everything we could. Froome defended himself well, he is very strong, but we will try a little further. Surely Alpe d'Huez will be a good stage and we will aim for victory as well. I feel good, we aspire to the maximum.
-Why didn't you move earlier?
-It wasn't possible earlier, the pace was very high. It would have been foolish to attack with that speed from Tinkoff. My attack was going to be launched there to open up the maximum advantage. However, it wasn't possible.
-Are you thinking of retaining Valverde's third place?
-Alejandro will be with Nibali and he will defend himself very well. We let him go ahead with a considerable lead, there won't be a problem in the one-on-one. We must try to maintain the podium with him, surely he will be better for Alpe d'Huez.
-Any message for the decisive stage?
-We will try and continue giving our all for the yellow dream.
