There is less and less time until the fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko. Both fighters will face each other again on September 9 at the UFC 215 event, where the bantamweight title will be at stake.
Amanda Nunes, prior to this fight, has been receiving harsh criticism for canceling the fight that was scheduled for UFC 213. On that occasion, the Brazilian stated that she was not well enough to compete and did not show up for the fight against Valentina Shevchenko.
Since then, it was said that Nunes was afraid to fight against Shevchenko. However, the 'Lioness' came out to deny those comments and stated that she will prove that she is the champion.
"I don't know why people think I was afraid. I wanted that fight, I asked for it. At that time, I wasn't well and I didn't want to fight at 50%. I don't know why people still question it. I am the champion, I want to continue being the champion, and I have to prove it," declared Amanda Nunes.
