Cristian Mijares will fight again on October 7th in Campeche.

Cristian "Diamante" Mijares, three-time champion from Laguna, will return to fight on October 7th in Campeche, where he will face a foreign opponent yet to be confirmed, which is why he has intensified his training.

Mijares is training hard at Jorge Ocampo's Gym, his physical trainer, who is preparing him for another grueling battle, where the "Diamante" intends to come out on top and then pursue the Super Featherweight world championship.

Miguel Berchelet has a record of 32 wins and just 1 loss, with a streak of 11 consecutive victories, he won his championship against Francisco Vargas.

As confirmed by Mijares himself after his training session, he specified that the opponent will be foreign, that's the only thing he has been able to find out from his promotional company, Cancun Boxing, who partners with Memo Rocha's Boxing Time Promotions.

Cristian stated that he will move up to the Super Featherweight category, so he had to relinquish the Silver championship he held in the Featherweight division.

In fact, in the rankings of the World Boxing Council, Mijares is already ranked fifth in the Super Featherweight division.

The intention is to fight on October 7th in Campeche, win, and then in 2018 challenge the champion of the Super Featherweight division, the also Mexican Miguel Berchelet.

Mijares currently has a winning streak of 8. In his last fight, he looked good and decisive when he defeated Venezuelan Rafael Hernández, whom he beat by unanimous decision on July 29th at the Auditorio del Pueblo in Durango. His record is 57 wins, 26 knockouts, 8 losses, and 2 draws.
