Atlas' New Era and High Expectations

The arrival of Gustavo Matosas and several reinforcements to Atlas has excited the rojinegra fanbase about the possibility of fighting for a title. This is also believed by the team roster, at least as expressed by Eisner Loboa.

The Colombian stated, “The team is convinced of what we came to do, both reinforcements and those who were already here. We have a healthy group, with ambition, competitiveness, and a hunger to succeed. The preseason has served us well, it was quite good, the team has been adapting, we hope to start on the right foot, playing well, with the kind of football that the coach wants.”

Loboa arrives after stints at Puebla and León, where he was coached by Gustavo Matosas, his current manager. That is why he describes him as a great coach who knows how to get the best performance out of the team. "He always tries to get the players to perform. I know him a little better, there are players who are adapting to his idea, there is a good group and there is a very healthy competition. He is a coach who always demands one hundred percent, he is on top of the player to give everything on the field, he likes to attack and make you grow as a player, both personally and in a football sense.”

Although he is a midfielder, having been formed in America de Cali, Loboa has played preseason matches as a full-back, a position he is not unfamiliar with. “I have played as a full-back in previous tournaments, I know the position and I believe that by putting my all into it, I will be very useful for the team.”
