Anchico and Otálvaro, new additions to Santa Fe's lineup against Chicó

Santa Fe will visit Boyacá Chicó with two changes.

Santa Fe will visit Boyacá Chicó with two changes.

The excitement of being the leader of the Liga Águila II-2015, with six points, combined with the satisfaction of being a strong and secure team in defense is reflected in every Santa Fe training. The group appeared animated and cheerful in front of the media.

The rain was not an impediment for the players to have fun at the end of practice, even some like Omar Pérez, Yulián Anchico, and Sergio Otálvaro ended up joking with a member of the equipment staff, playing and smiling during every conversation.

For Otálvaro, the happiness is even greater, this semester he has had some playing time coming off the bench, but this Saturday, he will have the possibility of being a starter against Boyacá Chicó. Finally, the moment has come to be on the field again from the beginning and alongside a great friend like Yulián Anchico.

The injury of Juan Daniel Roa, who will be out of the lineup due to a wound in his right ankle during the match against Cúcuta, would open the door for the defender wearing number 4 to start.

"Roa's evolution has been good, there is no longer an active inflammatory process and the pain has decreased. Today he actually did some on-field work, some impact, and there were no problems. The idea is to wait for the wound to heal completely. I think in four or five days he'll be one hundred percent," said doctor Rafael Montaña.

Meanwhile, coach Gerardo Pelusso stated, "I am going to take care of Juan Daniel Roa. I don't think he'll be ready for Saturday's match, but we will wait for him until the last day, if he is ready we will incorporate him into the group that we have already decided will play against Chicó."

Regarding the starting lineup, the coach, as always, avoided confirming names but assured that both Anchico and Mina are ready to return to competition after being preserved in the previous game due to some muscle discomfort.

So, according to what could be observed in Thursday's practice, Sergio Otálvaro would be the right back and Yulián Anchico would take Juan Daniel Roa's place. "There is no team in Colombian soccer that has two better right backs than ours. No team has full-backs of the stature of Otálvaro and Anchico," highlighted the coach.

In addition, Pelusso highlighted the presence of Yeison Gordillo in the group of players called up for the third match of the league. "I am finalizing the group but Gordillo will be in the squad for Saturday."

Motivated and with the idea of staying at the top of the standings, Santa Fe will face Chicó this Saturday at Techo stadium, an opponent that has had very little action but that the red and white coaching staff has analyzed well.

"Chicó has only played one match and away from home. Now, they will play in Bogotá. We know their team, the possible changes they will make on Saturday, and the style of play they have," said Pelusso.

Possible Santa Fe lineup: Leandro Castellanos; Sergio Otálvaro, Yerri Mina, Francisco Meza, Dairon Mosquera; Yulián Anchico, Sebastián Salazar, Luis Manuel Seijas; Omar Pérez; Luis Quiñones, and Wilson Morelo.
