Luis Tejada, player of the Panama national team, regretted the bad refereeing by American Mark Geiger, who harmed the Panamanians after calling a non-existent penalty in favor of Mexico, in the semifinal match of the Gold Cup. The match ended 2-1 in favor of the squad of Miguel Herrera, and the forward from Juan Aurich couldn't avoid expressing his annoyance.
“With a very sad feeling, for how things turned out and how we have been robbed. There is no explanation," said Luis Tejada, after being interviewed at the end of the match.
The attacker of the Panamanian national team justified the retaliation taken by his teammates, who wrote on towels "CONCACAF, thieves, corrupt," as a sign of protest against the bad refereeing.
Luis Tejada also criticized José Guardado, who was in charge of executing the penalty and scoring the winning goal for Mexico.
