Felipe Massa remembers Jules Bianchi
The Brazilian driver Felipe Massa (Williams) has remembered the recently deceased French driver Jules Bianchi, stating that he was "the best karting driver" he had ever seen. Massa made these comments during the press conference before the Hungarian Grand Prix, which will take place this weekend at the Hungaroring circuit.
"Jules was a great friend, a fantastic guy, humble, and a great driver," said the British Williams team driver.
"I met him when he was finishing his karting career because we had the same representative, Nicolas Todt. Based on my experience, he was the best driver I had ever seen in that category. We went karting together many times, also in Brazil," said the Sao Paulo native.
Regarding Bianchi's time in Formula 1, Massa regretted not seeing Bianchi "in a more competitive car" so that he could "demonstrate his enormous talent," but he wanted to highlight his performance in the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix, where he scored two points with the Russian team Marussia: "he showed us his talent in that race, it was incredible what he did with that car."
"I'm sure he is in a good place now, driving, enjoying, and watching all of us from wherever he is. I wish the best for his family," concluded Massa.
