Isidora Jiménez achieves an impeccable performance in the 200 meters at the Pan American Games
Once again, national sprinter Isidora Jiménez has had a dream day after an impeccable performance in the 200 meters at the Pan American Games.
Jiménez not only advanced to the semifinals with a time of 22.95 seconds, but she also set a new record for Chile and qualified for the World Championships in Shanghai and the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
"I'm very happy with what happened. I started running convinced that I could achieve a good time and finally broke the 23-second barrier, which is something I was aiming for. I really enjoyed the race," she said after the competition.
"Lowering my previous record by more than 10 hundredths of a second makes me very happy, as it also qualifies me for the World Championships and the Olympic Games in Rio. I'm extremely happy because I surpassed myself," she concluded.
This performance adds to her achievements in the 100 meters, where she also set a new record for Chile and advanced to the semifinals.
