The Deportivo de La Coruña recorded their fourth victory of the preseason (0-1), remaining unbeaten, against their toughest rival, Ponferradina.
The team managed by Víctor Sánchez showed a solid performance, very reliable in defense, where they have only conceded one goal in the preseason - against Rácing de Ferrol - and didn't give any chances to a rival that wanted to showcase their best in their home debut after an easy win against Toralense (0-9), but proved to be ineffective, especially in the second half.
At the start, the locals wanted to take control of the game. Rubén Sobrino emerged as one of the main threats for the home team, and his boots produced the first chance in the 15th minute, but the ball went too far ahead and Fabricio saved it.
However, it was Deportivo who came closest to scoring with a shot against the crossbar by Luis Fernández in the 22nd minute.
At the beginning of the second half, the home team gradually lost momentum and their game dissolved until Deportivo took the lead in the 67th minute, with Luis Alberto scoring after a precise cross from the right by Juanfran.
Until the end, Ponferradina, with few resources, practically didn't create any danger towards Lux's goal, who had replaced starting goalkeeper Fabricio.
