U-19 Selector, Jorge Vilda, is taking it step by step.
He recognizes that qualifying for the semifinals and securing a spot in the U-20 World Cup is very close, but he remembers that Tuesday's opponent is a powerhouse like Germany: "This match against Germany is the final step to reach the semifinals and to qualify for the U-20 World Cup. We know that it's well on track, but it's not done yet and we would love to seal both objectives with a victory. Let's not forget that we will be facing one of the top favorites and they can only qualify for the semifinals with a win."
Jorge Vilda warned that it will be a tough clash:
It will be a do-or-die match. Germany is a very well-organized team that never loses its position. The defeat in the last match against Norway doesn't reflect the great team they are. Germany had very bad luck in front of the goal. They had 20 shots on target compared to Norway's 8, and hit the post a couple of times. It's clear that they didn't have their day, and I hope they don't have it against our team either.
He also highlighted the progress of the Spanish players in the European championship: "This team never ceases to surprise us all, you can see their progress in every training session and the players are very excited. We want to finish at the top of the group for ourselves, to end the group stage with good feelings. We don't want to qualify by losing. This team deserves to do it with a victory."
