Stage 18: Gap - Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, 186.5 kilometers

The second alpine stage offers a stage with many possibilities, with the ascent to Glandon and the adventure in the Lacets of Montvernier.

The legendary special-category climb, with 21.7 kilometers of ascent and an average gradient of 5.1%, has its summit located 40 kilometers from the finish line.

But after a 20-kilometer descent, the cyclists will come across the Lacets of Montvernier, 10 kilometers before the finish line, a short ascent of 3.4 kilometers, but with an average gradient of 8.2%, which can create differences.

The first part of the stage will be demanding, with two second-category climbs and three third-category climbs before ascending the Glandon.

Furthermore, it will be a long stage, covering 186.5 kilometers between Gap and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.
