Tennessee Titans ready to start their training camp

The Titans are prepared to open their training camp on July 30th, after signing Mariota all loose ends are tied to start a season that promises strong emotions for Titans fans.

The latest Heisman award winner released a statement in which he commented: "Thanks to the Tennessee Titans organization as well as my agent for making my dream come true," "I am very grateful and honored to have this opportunity. I look forward to the future with my teammates, and I am truly excited to be part of this team."

The Tennessee Titans also issued a statement through their Executive Vice President and General Manager, Rusron Webster: "We are pleased that the agreement with Marcus has been finalized, and we would like to thank both Marcus and his representatives for their effort working with us to achieve this agreement."

The executive also referred to the future of the team: "We were confident that Marcus would be under contract before training camp, and we look forward to seeing him start his career with his teammates when camp opens next week. It's an exciting time for the Tennessee Titans organization, and we look forward to a bright future."

Although the contract has now been signed, the rookie has participated in all offseason workout sessions, which shows his enthusiasm to play in the NFL this year. Mariota's contract is for four seasons and $24.2 million, with a fifth-year option included in all first-round draft pick contracts.

The reason why the contract was not signed earlier was not an economic issue, as rookie contracts adhere to agreements negotiated between the NFL and the player's union. The small loose end was due to the guaranteed money that Mariota could receive in the event of being cut by the Titans. But finally, the two parties have reached an agreement and Mariota's future has been clarified.
