The Granada and the Italian Udinese have reached an agreement for the transfer of Chilean midfielder Manuel Iturra, who today has left the concentration that the red and white team is developing in La Manga (Murcia) to join his new team. The agreement between the two entities, who have the Pozzo family as their main shareholder, and the player has been reached today after a couple of days of negotiations, as reported by the Andalusian club.
The Chilean midfielder, whose contract with the Andalusian team was ending at the end of the upcoming season, has been a key player for Granada in the last two seasons, playing 68 games.
Iturra has explained, in statements provided by Granada from the team's concentration in La Manga, that he is "eager to face the new challenge" but that he has "mixed feelings".
"I have spent two years with a sensational group that overcame very difficult moments, in a team that knew how to step up when it had to", said the Chilean, who wanted to emphasize that he has felt "at home" in Granada thanks to the "affection and support from the fans".
"They have always told me that Italian football is good for my profile", added the midfielder, who believes that "this year Granada will not suffer like in previous years" because "Sandoval proposes a very offensive style of play and people will have a great time watching Granada this year".
Iturra leaves the Andalusian club "grateful" to the organization "for the trust placed in him and because they always treated him very well", and to the city because they treated him "like a Granada local".
The club, on the other hand, wants to emphasize that Iturra is "a charismatic, tireless, brave and temperamental player" who "since his arrival in 2013 has won over not only the Granada fans and family, but also numerous followers who see in his playing style a philosophy of life, a constant battle to achieve the objective, a fight to win in every sense".
Granada wishes to "thank him for his great performance during these two years and wish him the best of luck and success in his new professional stage". The player has left the red and white concentration in Murcia today and will join Udinese in the next hours.
