The Spanish Professional Football League (LFP) and the Coalition of Creators and Content Industries have signed an agreement to promote a common front against digital piracy and defend their common interests.

The League and the Coalition will work together on all fronts against digital piracy, from social awareness and educational programs to the improvement of laws and their effective enforcement, as reported by the football association.

"It is important to join a group like the Coalition and stand united with the affected sectors against piracy. This way we can not only raise awareness in society, but also fight for our rights and defend culture and sports," said Javier Tebas, president of the LFP.

"The Coalition encompasses the main creative sectors of this country and today we take a step further, joining efforts with the League, which is one of the main suppliers of pirated content, to end this plague that is devastating the entire production sector," highlighted Antonio Guisasola, president of the Coalition.

Starting in September, the League and the Coalition will launch a campaign in schools throughout Spain, which will be developed throughout the 2015/16 school year, and will be a pioneer in conveying the values and respect for intellectual property to students through interactive pedagogy.
