According to various sources, such as RealGM from the United States, Real Madrid is negotiating with Swedish NBA forward Jeff Taylor (26 years old and 2.01 meters tall) to replace KC Rivers in the team next season
A twist that could happen due to passport issues. The white club had agreed to continue with the American player, who both the sports management and the Madrid coaches were very satisfied with. But Rivers will not be able to use his Guinea-Bissau passport because he cannot prove any sports, family or personal connection with this country, a requirement set by the Superior Sports Council's new regulations imposed last May to end express passports.
Rivers wouldn't be the only departure from Madrid
Once Salah Mejri's departure has been confirmed, whose contract expired on June 30th, and while waiting for Real to reach an agreement to terminate Giannis Bourousis's contract, which could happen this week, Facundo Campazzo, with a non-EU passport, could be loaned to a club in the Endesa League.
Taylor
Taylor, born in Norrkoping on May 23, 1989, played college basketball at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tennessee) and was selected in the second round of the 2012 draft by the Charlotte Bobcats, where he played the last three seasons, with averages of 6.1 points, 2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 19.4 minutes. Although in the 2014-15 season he ended up playing for the Austin Spurs in the NBA Development League. According to reports from Israel, Taylor had reached a preliminary agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the next two seasons, but negotiations were put on hold when Real Madrid showed interest, although they are not the only European team interested in the Swedish player.
Aside from his basketball skills, Taylor was involved in controversy when he was arrested in September 2014 for an alleged case of domestic violence
against his partner in Michigan, which he himself confirmed later: "My actions were wrong and I do not want to challenge a decision based on my misconduct. I respect the League's decision to suspend me and I will take all necessary steps to ensure that something like this does not happen again," he commented. For that action, the NBA punished him with a 24-game suspension without pay. He clarified, "I deeply regret everything that happened".
