Four of the six continental confederations in the world of football would support current UEFA president Michel Platini if he decided to run for FIFA's leadership, according to a source close to the continental organization.

The former French footballer, reelected to his position at the helm of European football earlier this year, will announce in the next ten days whether he decides to run or not to replace Joseph Blatter, as pointed out by the same source. It was also confirmed that Platini held meetings late Sunday at a hotel in the Swiss city of Zurich where he was informed of this support.

FIFA's Executive Committee is meeting this Monday to discuss reform plans and set a date to choose Blatter's successor, winner of the elections in late May, but who, amidst the corruption scandal that shakes the organization, decided, despite not being accused of anything, not to continue.
