Volador Jr. wins Universal Championship for the first time in his career
Volador Jr. was crowned the Universal Champion of the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) for the first time in his career after defeating Último Guerrero in the main event at Arena México.
Rewarded with money by the fans, both wrestlers gave their all; the two gladiators showcased their best moves and, with one fall each, everything was decided in the third.
The 'predator of the air', with near perfect preparation, managed to withstand all the attacks from his rival; even withstood a 'Guerrero special', the defining blow from the lagunero.
When it seemed like all was lost for the heir of the 'Royal Family', Volador Jr. found strength and, with a neck scissors from the top rope, sealed the battle to secure his first Universal title.
