Josep Maria Bartomeu
Elected as the 41st president of Barcelona until 2012, appeared radiant in the auditorium after being democratically elected at the polls, after previously reaching the presidency following the resignation of Sandro Rosell.
"Today has been a day of great tension, of cheering on the members and a celebration. It is a very special moment for us. My first words are for all the members, those who have voted and those who have not. Thank you. Because today we have shown once again how much we love Barça. We have shown that not only on the field we are the best club in the world. Thanks to the Board, the employees, and the volunteers for the organization. We are a unique club where the owners are the members and we organize ourselves in a democratic and festive way. Thanks to the candidates, for the tone of fair play during the campaign. Some of their ideas will be useful to improve Barça."
"Our commitment is to continue growing and winning. If we know how to provide Luis Enrique and the coaches with the best working conditions. If we organize La Masia in the most effective way to be the foundation of the first team, with players who know the values of the club. If we become a global reference in women's football. If we make Espai Barça the best and the largest. If we are capable of remaining economically the club with the highest value in the world. If we support our Foundation, making it a benchmark. If we continue to support penyes around the world. If we are a club that supports the country at this moment and if we maintain the independence of Barça from economic, political, and media power. If we provide better service to members and fans."
"Together and united we are and will be stronger. We will try to live up to the members, the previous boards, and the challenges of the 21st century. We will sweat the shirt like Puyol, Xavi, Abidal, and Messi. This is my commitment and that of the magnificent team that accompanies me."
