The long-awaited statement from Manor team did not take long to arrive, and their director John Booth wanted to remember Jules Bianchi.
Here is the full statement:
"Words cannot describe the immense sadness within our team this morning, as we come to terms with the loss of Jules. He has left an indelible mark on all our lives, and will always be part of everything we have achieved, and everything we will strive for in the future".
"Jules was a brilliant talent. He was destined to do great things in our sport, he deserved success. He was also a wonderful human being, making a good impression on people all over the world. You will recognize that he was a fiercely motivated driver, but also a very calm, humble, and extremely pleasant person, who brightened our garage and our lives".
"We are very grateful to have been able to give Jules the opportunity to show the world what he could do in a Formula 1 car. We knew we had a very special driver on our hands from the first time he tested the car in pre-season testing in 2013. It has been an honor for me to be able to consider him our race driver, our teammate, and of course our friend".
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the wonderful Bianchi family, who have stood by Jules over the past nine months. Jules was everything to them".
"Finally, we would like to thank everyone who has supported Jules since his accident in Japan last October. Your kindness has been a source of comfort for his family and for us, his team. We will rely on your continued support in the coming days and months, as we continue to race for Jules".
