AC Milan Fires Filippo Inzaghi as Coach

The AC Milan announced on Tuesday the dismissal of Filippo Inzaghi as coach of the first team due to the team's poor results. Additionally, the club has officially announced the hiring of Sinisa Mihajlovic from Sampdoria for the next two years.

AC Milan finished in tenth place in the Serie A and will not participate in any European competition for the second consecutive year. Inzaghi, 41 years old, who arrived to replace former player Clarence Seedorf, could only stay as coach for one season, with the team finishing eleven points away from the European spots.

Inzaghi had played for eleven seasons as a footballer at San Siro, winning two Serie A titles, one Italian Cup, two Italian Super Cups, two Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and one Club World Cup.
