Conor McGregor, who has been preparing to face Floyd Mayweather, became famous after dominating the UFC featherweight division. Watch each of his fights.

In just four years, Conor McGregor has become a true global star.

The Irish fighter is on everyone's lips, especially since his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather was officially announced. The fight will take place on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Although Conor McGregor is a character who knows how to market himself perfectly (provoking his rivals and boasting about his luxurious life), it is clear that he would never have jumped to fame if it were not for his great performances in the featherweight division (66 kilos) of the UFC.

His debut in the company was on April 6, 2013, with an impressive technical knockout victory over Marcus Brimage. After that fight, 'The Notorious' added five more victims, including Max Holloway, the current champion of the division, whom he defeated by unanimous decision.

These six consecutive wins allowed Conor McGregor to earn a title fight against the formidable José Aldo, whom he knocked out in just 14 seconds in December 2015. Thus, the Irish fighter silenced all those who accused him of being "overrated".

After dominating the featherweight division, Conor McGregor fought two welterweight (77 kilos) fights against Nate Diaz, winning one and losing the other. He then decided to drop down to lightweight (70 kilos), where he knocked out champion Eddie Alvarez. "I never come in as the favorite and I always end up winning," 'The Notorious' said a few weeks ago. Will he be able to make an impact against Floyd Mayweather as well?
