Valencia coach Nuno Espirito Santo gave an interview on the club’s official website ahead of their forthcoming trip to China, where they will face Bayern Munich in Beijing (Saturday, 13:30 CET).
Fans at the training sessions: “We didn’t expect so many fans to come and support us and to show the bond that exists. Impressive. It motivated the players to continue working. We’ll open up more sessions so we can work together; many of the points we won last season at Mestalla were because of the fans: the turnout at the stadium, at the matches. We’re continuing along the same lines as last year and we’re very grateful.”
Bayern: “They're one of the best teams in the world. Competing against these teams will do us good, in view of what's to come in August. But we’re taking it step by step so that the players take advantage of these games so they can grow.”
Players’ post-holiday fitness levels: “They understand that holidays are for resting, not to stop completely. They’ve done what they had to and returned in good shape. We’re really happy because the response in training has been great.”
Bakkali and Santi Mina: “They’ve become part of the squad, who have welcomed them. That’s the way it should be. The squad shows anyone who comes in the path they have to take. They have to integrate and contribute with their quality.”
