Getafe signs Hungarian goalkeeper Balázs Megyeri
Getafe officially announced on Wednesday the signing of Hungarian goalkeeper Balázs Megyeri, who arrives as a free agent to the Madrid team and signed today for the next three seasons.
After Juan Cala, Alvaro Medrán, and Moi Gómez, Megyeri is Getafe's fourth signing this summer. The Hungarian player will compete for the position with Vicente Guaita and fills the gap left by Jordi Codina and Jonathan López "Jona", who left the club after the end of last season.
Megyeri will join Getafe's training sessions tomorrow, as the team is completing the first phase of preseason in the town of La Albuera, Segovia.
Fran Escribá will have a young goalkeeper (25 years old), with great stature (1.87m) who started his career at Hungarian Ferencvaros, where he spent four years interrupted by one season when he played for English club Bristol City.
In the 2010/2011 season, he signed with Olympiakos, and throughout the five seasons he was at the Greek club, he was only a starter in the second season, in which he played 27 matches in a league that he won five times. Megyeri also has three Greek Cup titles in his career.
