Valoyes reaffirmed her favorite status in Toronto

She won her fourth consecutive Pan American gold medal. She had already been champion in 2003, 2007, and 2011.

She prevailed by lifting 247 kg and relegated the Chilean Fernanda Valdés to silver (231 kg) and the Brazilian Jaqueline Ferreira (230) to bronze.

With this medal, Ubaldina's participation in weightlifting, a discipline that gave her eight gold medals, comes to a close.
