Tennis Players Jarry and Podlipnik Reach Final in Toronto
The dream that both players couldn't fulfill in singles is still alive in doubles. Chilean tennis players Nicolás Jarry and Hans Podlipnik advanced to the final of the discipline in Toronto on Tuesday and will now compete for the gold medal at the Pan American Games.
After long hours of waiting due to rain, the Chileans took to the court to face Ecuadorians Emiliano Gómez and Gonzalo Escobar, and didn't disappoint. Strong with their serve and needing only two breaks, they won in two sets 6-4, 6-4.
With this victory, both players guarantee at least a silver medal for their country and now await their opponents for Wednesday's final, who will come from the match between the Argentinian pair Facundo Bagnis-Guido Andreozzi, and the Barbados duo composed of Darian King and Haydn Lewis.
