Yeison Gordillo is the new defensive midfielder of Independiente Santa Fe
He is organized, has good ball distribution and recovery. Yeison Gordillo is the new defensive midfielder of Independiente Santa Fe. At 23 years old, he comes from Boyacá Chicó, the club where he has spent his entire career and showcased his best qualities.
"Coach Alberto Gamero was fundamental for my career, when he coached me at Chicó; he helped me develop my ball distribution and defensive work. I consider myself a player with good technique, but my strength lies in recovery," said the caucano in an Alargue interview on Caracol Radio.
Gordillo is aware of the responsibility he will have in the 'cardenal' team. He knows it is not easy to replace an idol and a reference point, but he already announced that he is coming to contribute the best of his football and not just be a replacement for Daniel Torres.
"Daniel Torres left a great legacy at Santa Fe, he is a great player, I admire him very much and I will not try to replace him, but rather to do my job and contribute to the team," he said.
It is expected that no later than this Wednesday, the midfielder from Miranda - whom coach Alberto Gamero described as a player with three lungs due to his great physical performance - will join the team's training sessions and receive instructions from coach Gerardo Pelusso.
"My playing style is like Daniel Torres', organized, with good ball distribution and a good shot. I identify with him and with the work of Juan Daniel Roa," admitted Yeison Gordillo, who hopes to fit perfectly into the style and scheme of the Uruguayan coach.
