Navarro, presented with Deportivo, stated that both he and Alejandro Arribas arrive with "the enthusiasm to bring experience".

Fernando Navarro, one of the new signings of Deportivo, said on Monday that for him, after winning the Europa League in May, it is an "extra motivation to have a good season" with the team from Coruña and stay in the Liga BBVA. "I knew, when I made the decision to sign for Deportivo, that it would be different, but in the end I play football for personal motivation and it is an extra motivation to have a good season and for the team to maintain its category. I see an opportunity in the goal of staying in the league," he commented in a press conference.

The Catalan player expressed his "happiness" to be at Deportivo and insisted that it is "a nice, exciting change" for him, a "new stage" that he faces with "a lot of motivation".

"I was clear about it. The opportunity to come here has opened up for me and it is a good sports and family project. In the end, when you decide to come to a place, you know what you're coming for, so you know what you're going to fight for. My decision has been well thought out and we believe it is the best destination we could have," he said. Navarro assured that both he and Alejandro Arribas, who also comes from Sevilla, come with the intention of bringing experience and performance, which is what "is demanded".

Although he can play as a center-back, the Deportivo player explained that he was brought in "to play as a full-back," where he "feels more comfortable," and regarding the competition with the Portuguese Luis Carlos Correia, 'Luisinho', and Saúl García on the wing, he pointed out that it is "good for the team."

About the style of Víctor Sánchez del Amo, he said that he "proposes playing well, being organized," although he pointed out that "there are still many players missing and it is not easy to implement an idea with so many positions to fill."

"Casillas is a legend, it's a pity that he is leaving like this."

The player praised Iker Casillas, who will continue his career at Porto in Portugal after 16 seasons in the first team of Real Madrid, and regretted the way in which his departure to Portuguese football took place.

"I have great memories of Casillas as a teammate and as a player I have faced. He is a legend and it is a pity that he has left like this," he commented in his press appearance.

Navarro reflected on his response when asked about his thoughts on Iker Casillas' departure, with whom he shared the dressing room in the national team.

"What do I tell you, what I think or what I have to say?" he indicated to the journalist who asked him the question. "What you think," the communicator replied, to which the former Sevilla player responded with a eloquent, "better not," and later praised the goalkeeper and expressed sadness about his departure.
