"I knew, when I made the decision to sign for Deportivo, that it would be different, but in the end I play football for personal motivation and it is an extra motivation to have a good season and for the team to maintain its category. I see an opportunity in the goal of staying in the league," he commented in a press conference.
The Catalan player expressed his "happiness" to be at Deportivo and insisted that it is "a nice, exciting change" for him, a "new stage" that he faces with "a lot of motivation".
"I was clear about it. The opportunity to come here has opened up for me and it is a good sports and family project. In the end, when you decide to come to a place, you know what you're coming for, so you know what you're going to fight for. My decision has been well thought out and we believe it is the best destination we could have," he said. Navarro assured that both he and Alejandro Arribas, who also comes from Sevilla, come with the intention of bringing experience and performance, which is what "is demanded".
Although he can play as a center-back, the Deportivo player explained that he was brought in "to play as a full-back," where he "feels more comfortable," and regarding the competition with the Portuguese Luis Carlos Correia, 'Luisinho', and Saúl García on the wing, he pointed out that it is "good for the team."
