A TikToker shared her experience attending a movie theater in this country, and the images left internet users in awe.

A young woman used social media to show her visit to a cinema in Cuba. The surprising images, which look like they are from an old movie, have left internet users amazed.

In the video, the girl, identified on TikTok as Matrioshka (@matrioshkacubana), is seen first at the entrance of the venue. There, you can find the available movies on a black and white printed billboard attached to a board.

After choosing the film, the user and her companion pay for their tickets, which cost 3 cents, and enter what appears to be a house. In this place, there is a large room where there are several wooden chairs available for the viewers, and a projector used to watch the movie.

“It's like it's a different era”; “I've never felt so grateful”; “Wow, like a time machine”; “It's like when they showed you a movie at school”; “Oh girl, how small it is. Unfortunately, those of us who have everything don't appreciate anything”; “it's like time stopped there”, people wrote.

What is happening in Cuba?

According to a report by Human Rights Watch, the Cuban government continues to repress and punish virtually any form of dissent and public criticism. At the same time, Cubans continue to suffer from a severe economic crisis that affects their social and economic rights.

In July 2021, thousands of Cubans took to the streets to participate in historic protests against the long-standing restrictions on rights in the country, the shortage of food and medicine, and the government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The government responded with brutal repression.
