The Mexican actor and producer, Eduardo Verástegui, who has stood out in recent years for spreading false news about covid-19 vaccines, tested positive for coronavirus.
Through his Twitter account, Verástegui stated that he obtained the result after taking a PCR test in the United States.
"Dear family, I want to share with you that today in Los Angeles I took the covid PCR test and the result is positive. I will follow the quarantine protocol as appropriate. I am fine, no news other than the positive test. This Christmas will be truly different," the actor said.
After the result, the actor assured that he feels close to God and that is why he will continue praying.
"I will spend Christmas alone, but at the same time, I will be with all of you. I feel very close to those who have already gone through this situation or are going through it now. The Rosary is still my strength and God is my security. And all of you, my company," he added on his Twitter.
Verástegui against vaccines
The Mexican actor was harshly criticized on social media after stating last October that he did not trust covid-19 vaccines.
"I have not been vaccinated and I will not be vaccinated. I do not trust the people behind the vaccines... Be very careful, family, sober, alert, and vigilant, because the devil, the adversary, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. They want to depopulate us. Stay calm. God in front," he said in a tweet that was deleted for promoting misinformation.
