Christopher Mauboulou
A football player who played in the French first division with the Sporting Club de Bastia and who last year wore the shirt of a regional team, died at the age of 30 due to a cardiac arrest while playing a match with some friends.
Bastia announced on their Twitter account "the tragic death" of Maboulou and offered "their deepest condolences" to his family, friends, and loved ones.
His death occurred in the city of Montfermeil, on the outskirts of Paris, where he was born.
The midfielder played 29 matches in the French first division and 58 in the second division. He stood out particularly in the elite of French football with Bastia.
After an injury in 2015 that left him without a place in the Corsican club, he went to play in Greece with PAS Giannina in the 2016-17 season, before returning to France with Nancy, in the second division, in 2018-2019.
In March 2020, when all championships in France were suspended due to the coronavirus, he had played two matches with Thonon-Evian, in Regional 1. EFE
