Junior de Barranquilla reports COVID-19 cases among its team members, just like Independiente del Valle and Brazilian Flamengo, three teams that belong to the same group in the Copa Libertadores.
"COVID-19 tests were conducted on a total of 59 members of our institution, with two (2) positive cases found, asymptomatic," the Colombian club announced on their social media, without specifying if they are players.
And they continued: "Those who tested positive will be in their place of residence, in strict isolation."
Six cases in Independiente already
Junior hosted Independiente last Tuesday (4-1). According to statements from official Santiago Morales on radio La Red, Independiente has reported six positive cases until this Tuesday.
The cases in Flamengo, on the other hand, reached 27.
Just like Flamengo did the previous Tuesday, the Barranquilla team visited Guayaquil on September 17 to play against Barcelona Sporting Club.
The Guayaquil institution has accounted for at least a hundred tests carried out by LigaPro (44), Conmebol (50), the Ministry of Health (33), and other rapid tests (10): no positive result for coronavirus.
Junior and Barcelona will face each other on Wednesday (19:30) at the Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez Stadium. (D)
