The Mexican national soccer team will return to action in October
The Mexican national soccer team will return to action in October when they visit the Netherlands in a friendly match, almost a year after playing their last game.
El Tri has not played a game since November 19, 2019, when they won 2-1 against Bermuda in the Concacaf Nations League.
"The Mexican National Team will face the Netherlands in a preparation match on October 7, at a time to be confirmed, at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in Amsterdam," the local Federation reported on Monday.
Mexico was scheduled to play friendly matches against the national teams of the Czech Republic, Greece, and Colombia in the United States in March and May, but they were suspended due to the coronavirus that has left more than 600,000 dead worldwide.
The sports activity was shaken by the coronavirus outbreak and all competitions had to be reorganized. Even the Olympic Games that were to be held in Japan between July 24 and August 9 were postponed until 2021.
So far, the virus has infected more than 14.5 million people worldwide. (D)
