Paraguayan Football: Uncertainty Grows
"There is a high percentage chance that it will not be played, we are reaching the deadline. The health conditions prevent football in other categories from returning," said the head of the Paraguayan Football Association on Wednesday.
"The decision will be made in the coming weeks, this month we cannot continue prolonging it," he added in an interview with Fútbol a lo Grande on Monumental radio.
Harrison stated that unfortunately the health protocol cannot be relaxed, "because human life is equally valuable in the First Division as it is in other categories like the B, C, and D."
"A census was taken and 50% of the players do not meet three minimum requirements, and that threw us into despair," he concluded.
Paraguayan football has been on hold since last March when it was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. This weekend it returns in its main category, perhaps the only one that will be played in 2020.
