The French international of Barcelona, Samuel Umtiti, is out due to problems in his left knee, the club announced on Friday in a statement.
The Catalan team indicated that Umtiti, 26, will have to undergo "conservative treatment" and that his availability will depend on his evolution.
The injury complicates the French player's season once again, who at the beginning of May suffered an injury to his right calf when he returned to training after the break imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
For now, he will miss the next league match on Sunday against Villarreal.
Umtiti, signed by Barcelona in 2016, played 18 matches this season, in all competitions.
The last match he played was on June 27 against Celta (2-2), where he was a starter.
With five rounds left in the championship, the Catalan club is currently in second place in the Spanish football league, four points behind Real Madrid.
