Finally, some good news in the City of Music after so many conflicts.

Players and executives of Sportivo Luqueño settled the outstanding debt with the team that had been dragging on for several months

The management of Auriazul solved the salary problem before the return of professional football and the players started training yesterday at the Feliciano Cáceres stadium.

In an interview with Telefuturo and Urbana (106.9 FM), Celso Cáceres, president of Luqueño, said: "The issue with the players has already been settled, we are up to date, we have even made a payment one month in advance", without revealing the details of the arrangement with the team.

The leader also pointed out that the payment has been made up until June and that, due to the coronavirus crisis, the players of the First Team had to compromise on the previously agreed amount. He assured that this is not just a truce, but the arrival of the long-awaited peace in Luque, which has been heavily affected by internal disputes.

THE NECESSITY

In an interview with Fútbol a lo Grande (1080 AM), Luqueño goalkeeper Rubén Escobar stated: "The wait was long and we accepted that money, we signed the document out of necessity". He added, "We understood the effort of the president (Cáceres) or the Paraguayan Football Association, we don't know where that money came from". In turn, forward Isidro Pitta emphasized: "It was what we had and we had to take it, we gave up a little and that's how we helped the club".
