Recently, French midfielder N’Golo Kanté from Chelsea expressed his refusal to return to training out of fear of contracting the coronavirus. This has generated different positions in English football, and one of them is that of Jordan Henderson, captain of Liverpool, who in an interview fully supported his colleague's decision.
"If they don't feel comfortable or safe, they shouldn't feel forced or pressured to return to work. I fully respect their opinion and their decision to do that. I think everyone is in a different situation with their family and at home. Ultimately, if they don't feel comfortable or safe, they shouldn't feel forced or pressured to return to work," said the 29-year-old Welsh midfielder to Sky Sports.
To settle the matter and avoid controversies, Jordan Henderson stated the following: "I can only speak for us (Liverpool), but I fully respect people in different situations who don't feel comfortable. If any of my teammates feel that way, I would fully support them and back them until they feel it's right to return," he concluded.
