Note on the reopening of football in Paraguay
The General Pablo Rojas Stadium, home of Cerro Porteño, was the last venue inspected by the medical commission of the APF, marking the end of the first phase of the protocol that outlines the safety measures to be implemented for the resumption of football in Paraguay.
This stage includes collecting data on the players' mobility, housing, nutrition, and finances, as well as providing training to all personnel involved in the development of the medical protocol, stated the organization.
A total of fourteen stadiums have been inspected by representatives of the APF. In addition to the twelve pitches of the clubs in the First Division, the Defensores del Chaco and the Erico Galeano stadium of Deportivo Capiatá, currently playing in the Second Division, have been included.
Once these inspections have been completed, the medical reports will determine which venues meet the necessary health measures for the resumption of the Apertura tournament, which has been suspended for over a month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
