Laguna MTB announces the second race of its 2017 series, which will be the fifth edition of the race called 'La Ruta del Alicante', to be held on Sunday, March 12th in the community of Monterrey, Durango.

Julio Pérez, coordinator of this competition, highlighted the strong start of mountain biking and now is preparing a very attractive test in every sense.

"It is the second race we do of the 2017 Cannondale Laguna MTB Series, which is in charge of Alicantes, a cycling team from the Comarca, which started 5 years ago and this is the fifth edition of their event".

"It is a very fun test, 15 days ago we were in Parras de la Fuente, there were many cyclists, more than 160".

"Now, on March 12th, the action moves to Monterrey, Durango, a place known as Monterreicillo, where the TAM (Territorio de Alicantes) is located, where the race will start at 8:00 am and arrive there as well".

"For this series, at the request of the cyclists, categories were opened for children and it was done with great success, their route will be one kilometer for ages 8 to 10 and from 11 to 13 years old they will have a small route of approximately 2 kilometers", he said.

As for the Elite, Advanced and Intermediate categories, the distance to be traveled will be 37 kilometers, Beginners will cover 20 kilometers and the Pre MTB, who are just starting in mountain biking, will have a route of 13 kilometers, part dirt road and part path.

"We wait for whole families as it has been a custom, interested people can come to register at the bike shops, the participation cost is 350 pesos".

"The payment includes participation medal, supply before, during and after the race, medical assistance (first aid) and commemorative t-shirt for those registered until this Sunday, March 5th", he said.

A raffle of Cannondale bike items will be held and a fruit cocktail will be offered at the end of the competition, in the finish line area.
