About a week ahead of the 2017 edition of the Lala International Marathon, the organizing committee is finalizing the last details to celebrate this event, where 5,200 runners from different cities in the country and abroad will participate.
Regarding the elite competition, the athletes who will be competing for the top prize offered by this event are being confirmed.
Work is being carried out in the start and finish areas to adapt the zones that will be reserved for this event.
There has been significant progress in the installation of the structure in the Venustiano Carranza Forest, where the athletes will be received.
The fence has been installed and the bleachers are already being set up at the finish line, on Juan Pablos street.
Everything is almost ready for the celebration of the 29th edition on Sunday, March 5. The route is ready and the Metrobus works will not affect the passage of the runners, so there is free access throughout Gómez Palacio, where the start is located, as well as in Lerdo and Torreón.
MINI MARATHON PREPARATIONS
One of the activities within the Lala Marathon is the Mini Marathon, which will take place on Saturday, March 4, starting from the Venustiano Carranza Forest.
The package and t-shirt collection will take place on Friday, March 3, from 10:00 to 20:00 at Plaza Cuatro Caminos.
The distances to be covered will be: 400 meters for ages 3-7 and 8-10, and 4 kilometers for ages 11 to 17.
There are still spots available, as there is capacity for 1,200 participants in the age categories 3-7 years (accompanied by an adult), 8-10 years, 11-14 years, and 15-17 years.
Registrations are available on the website www.maratonlala.org, as well as at Innova Sport stores, with a cost of 250 pesos for the younger category and 150 pesos for the others.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, both male and female, in kind.
