All-Star Game in Yaquis Stadium
Although the main attraction will be the All-Star Game, this Sunday there will be plenty of show at Yaquis Stadium, as from the early hours of the afternoon the venue will be filled with figures from the past and present of national baseball.
At 2:00 pm, the excitement will begin with a softball game between legends of the king of sports and celebrities. In this match, the spotlight will be on the historic Fernando "Toro" Valenzuela, who will be accompanied by former players such as Teodoro Higuera, Paquín Estrada, Rodrigo López, Isidro Márquez, and Ronnie Camacho.
Other major league pitchers who will shine in this game are Roberto Osuna, star closer for the Toronto Blue Jays, and Julio Urías of the Dodgers, who became the youngest pitcher to win a playoff game a few weeks ago.
Afterwards, at 3:00 pm, eight of the best hitters in the league will compete in a pure power spectacle known as the Home Run Derby (HRD). A representative from each LMP team will step up to the plate trying to hit as many home runs as possible.
The participants will be Chris Retherford for Mexicali Eagles, José Amador for Hermosillo Orange Growers, Yadir Drake for Los Mochis Caneros, Cyle Hankerd for Mazatlan Deer, Quincy Latimore for Navojoa Mayos, Bryan LaHair for Culiacan Tomato Pickers, Carlos Valencia for Obregon Yaquis, and Japhet Amador for Jalisco Charros.
After the HRD, around 6:15 pm, the All-Star Game will start, and finally, around 9:30 pm, the closing ceremony of this event, which has been awaited for almost two decades, will take place.
