The Mexican driver Checo Pérez will celebrate the milestone of 250 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore and for this reason he will wear a helmet with features alluding to this achievement, including the colors of his flag and the characters "GP 250".

"Reaching 250 GP in Singapore, I never imagined we would be here even in my craziest dreams! Let's celebrate with a special helmet for my country because I know this means a lot to us. I hope you like it, for a great weekend in Singapore," Checo Pérez wrote on social media.

The 33-year-old driver from Jalisco became the first Mexican in the F1 after Héctor Rebaque 30 years ago and currently he is the most prominent driver with that nationality, with three pole positions, 33 podiums, including six victories, and ten fastest laps.

It's worth mentioning that Checo Pérez is three Grand Prix away from surpassing the record set by Italian Jarno Trulli and entering the Top 10 of drivers with the most appearances in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Checo Pérez arrived in Formula 1 in 2011 with Sauber, stayed two seasons with the Swiss team, and then moved to McLaren in 2013. One year later, he signed with Force India, the team he stayed with from 2014 to 2020, including the financial problem that led to its transformation into Racing Point, and in 2021 he was signed by his current team, Red Bull.

In his last race, Checo Pérez finished in second place at the Italian Grand Prix, after climbing from fifth position to step on the podium alongside the winner, his teammate Max Verstappen, and Carlos Sainz.

As for this season's standings, after 14 races, Checo Pérez is in second place with 219 points, below the leader Max Verstappen (364) and above Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin, 170 points), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes, 164 points), and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari, 117 points) who make up the Top 5 at the moment.
