Formula 1 Returns with the Dutch GP

The Formula 1 is about to return after the traditional summer break, and it does so with the Dutch GP, home of the current championship leader, at the Zandvoort Circuit, a demanding track with fast and banked curves, which give it that sense of spectacularity that has been enjoyed since its return to the calendar. Undoubtedly, Max Verstappen stands out as the main favorite to win his home Grand Prix, unless something completely out of the ordinary happens according to what we have seen so far. The Dutch driver has shown great performance and consistency, as well as full support from Red Bull.

Second on the list is his teammate, Mexican Sergio Pérez, who is in second place in the standings and remains perhaps the only one who could challenge Verstappen, under controlled conditions, of course. Checo has managed to shake off the bad streak and it is expected that the adaptation to the car will return to what we saw at the beginning of the season. His ability to manage the tires will be a key point for him on this circuit.

Lando Norris, with McLaren's awakening, ranks third on the list. The speed shown by the MCL60 in the last two races places him above his rivals, and the Zandvoort track could further favor the performance of the Woking car.

Close behind is Lewis Hamilton, who with the W14b and the effort that Mercedes has put into the modifications to the car, could be in the fight to be the best of the rest. Only a catastrophe in the Milton Keynes team could put the seven-time champion in a position to win, but let's remember that in F1 everything is possible.

We cannot fail to mention Fernando Alonso. Aston Martin has confirmed that they will bring a significant package of improvements to the AMR23 so they can close the gap against McLaren and Mercedes and bring the team back to the surprising position they had at the beginning of the season.

The Spanish driver has shown a very high level of driving, and his experience and the characteristics of his car could give him a slight advantage. We still have to see if the improvements help in achieving this goal.

These are the main candidates to win the Dutch GP of the Formula 1 2023, but we must not forget other drivers such as Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, or George Russell from Mercedes, who could also have options if the right circumstances occur. The race promises to be exciting and unpredictable, and we will have to pay attention to all the details.
