After being suspended twice, the steel team and the Academy finally played their 12th round match and sealed a draw in Talcahuano, a result that allowed the steel team to be at the top and the "carabeleros" to be in last place.

The 2023 National Championship has been updated and Huachipato is at the top of the table. The steel team tied 1-1 at home against Magallanes in Talcahuano, in the rescheduled match from the 12th round that definitively closed the first half of the tournament.

In the match that was supposed to be played last April, but was postponed due to rain in the south, the steel team gave up a draw that served them anyway to be the sole leader of the tournament at the expense of a bottom-placed "carabelero" team that continues to struggle at the bottom.

After a discreet first half, the goals came in the second half and it was the home team who opened the scoring in the 62nd minute with a great goal, when Gonzalo Montes appeared from behind to finish off with a low shot and end a good play.

However, the joy did not last long, because in the 65th minute a cross came into the area and after a header to the post, an unmarked Felipe Flores found himself with the ball, controlled it and finished with precision.

With this draw, Huachipato reached 29 points to take a one-point lead over Cobresal. Meanwhile, Magallanes remains at the bottom with only nine points.

It should be noted that the National Championship will resume this Thursday with the start of the second half.
