Mexican Sergio Perez (Red Bull), who won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday, the fourth of the Formula One season, achieved his sixth victory since racing in Formula One, where he also secured his twenty-ninth podium.
'Checo', born 33 years ago in Guadalajara (Jalisco), maintained his love affair with Baku, where - after the one in 2021 - he achieved his second triumph. None of the other drivers come close to the Mexican's record in the Azerbaijani capital, where he has two victories and three other podiums in seven editions.
The brave pilot from Guadalajara achieved his first F1 victory in 2020, with Racing Point at the Sakhir Grand Prix, a race added to the pandemic-hit 2020 calendar. He obtained his second victory two years ago with Red Bull, on the same track he won on this Sunday.
From that moment on, he began to become an expert in street circuits.
Last year, he won in Monaco and at the night race in Singapore. And so far in 2023, he has succeeded in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and in Baku, undoubtedly his lucky track.
