Benjamin Mora's position is not at risk for now, at Atlas they already know what difficult beginnings are and therefore, they know that there are moments where screws need to be tightened in search of results.
President Jose Riestra stated that he has confidence in the work of the coach, his coaching staff, and that at the start of Clausura 2023 they can turn things around as soon as possible.
"We are clear that we all have to work towards the same goal. It's not easy to align after everything we have experienced, the back-to-back championships, certain situations, external factors, and pressure. I had a conversation with the players and told them that out of 23, 19 renewed their contracts, four did not because they have just arrived, but there is that effort and we must go towards that goal, all together. I trust Benjamin, his coaching staff, the players, the leadership of the players we have. We have already experienced it and realized that what led us to success was that there was one idea and we all defended it. There were not 10 ideas. When there are many ideas and everyone pulls for their own idea, it is difficult to achieve success," he said.
That does not mean that the management is distancing itself from the decisions made, as so far they have not lived up to the circumstances in the championship. This opportunity can be reversed against America.
"We have to take responsibility. We have stopped doing things, from the management to acknowledging what we have failed to do. Not everyone has delivered what they have been delivering, the same goes for the players, not everyone is at their best version or moment, the same goes for the coach. We need to work harder, with the same fans. The stadium weighs heavily when there is unity among all, when we reproach each other, the only thing we do is divide ourselves and seek salvation individually, and when a team seeks that, it is most likely that salvation does not come as one would like. When things are not going well for a team, nobody does well. Today we work on making the team strong, there is no one above the other. Facing America allows you to show what you are made of and that we all come out as a team to defend that," he concluded.
