Taekwondo athlete William Arroyo wins silver in South Korea - 24 Horas

At the closing of the 2022 Goyang World Poomsae Championship, Taekwondo athlete William de Jesús Arroyo Reyes won the silver medal.

At the closing of the 2022 Goyang World Poomsae Championship, Taekwondo athlete William de Jesús Arroyo Reyes won the silver medal.

In the closing activities of the World Championship of Poomsae Goyang 2022, William de Jesús Arroyo Reyes won the silver medal in the individual freestyle final over 17 years old, an event held in South Korea.

The gold medal went to the local fighter, Korean Namhoon Lee, while the bronzes went to Canadian Jinsu Ha and Filipino Darius Venerable.

The Oaxacan Arroyo Reyes added his second medal in the world championship, after the gold medal he won on Saturday in freestyle pairs, alongside Cecilia Lee from Nuevo León.

With this achievement, William Arroyo has won his fourth world medal, after the gold medals he won at the 2018 Taipei China and 2016 Lima World Championships.

Meanwhile, Paula Fregoso from Jalisco finished in fifth place in the recognized poomsae category, under 30 years old.

This tournament is the most important event for the discipline and earned points in the international ranking, at the beginning of the process for the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games, where the discipline will be presented for the second time after its debut in Lima 2019.
