Nicolás Fuchs Returns to Rally with an Impressive Victory

Peruvian pilot Nicolás Fuchs returned to rally racing in style! Fuchs conquered the Mobil 1 Cup of the Copec RallyMobil tournament in a brilliant performance by the Castro Yangali Team.

On board the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, Fuchs, along with his navigator Fernando Mussano, competed in 05 qualifying stages and won the event and the R5 category, setting a total time of 29 minutes and 47.3 seconds at the Motor Laguna Carén Park located outside of Santiago de Chile.

"I am very grateful to the Castro Yangali team, Copec Rally Mobil, and all of Peru that supports us. It is a great joy to be competing again. The year has just begun, and we will continue working to achieve new victories," said Fuchs in his debut and triumph in Chilean lands.

In the debut of their new Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, the "Peruvian Army" left their mark on the Chilean rally with a formidable performance. The duo of Alex Heilbrunn and Ricardo Dasso finished third in the R5 category and third overall with a time of 30:27.8.

"It was a very competitive race. We worked hard on the roadbook and achieved a good result. We take away a very positive balance and a lot of learning for future challenges," said Heilbrunn.

Also noteworthy was the duo of Eduardo Castro and Leonardo Suya, who finished sixth overall with a time of 30:38.5. "We achieved our personal goal. I am happy because we did good work. We want to do things well this year and we will continue working and preparing, with more time, to improve the results," Eduardo stated at the end of the last stage.

Fuchs and his Argentine navigator, with whom he has competed for 10 years, made their debut in the Chilean rally with the best possible results. They set the fastest time (3m45.8s) in the Shakedown and maintained top positions in each stage.

The competition, which is not part of the Copec RallyMobil championship, began on Friday, March 26 with the Shakedown and concluded today with 5 stages at the Motor Laguna Carén Park. The next Rally date is planned for the penultimate week of April.
