Jorge Montenegro (Movistar Team) won the first place in the III Galapagos International Tour that ended on Sunday in Baltra.
The race featured prominent elite cyclists from the country and had figures such as Jhonatan Narváez (Ineos Grenadiers), Jefferson Cepeda (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), and Steven Haro from the Caja Rural affiliate as guests for an exhibition participation.
The race was held in three stages, with elite and master cyclists, on road and mountain bikes.
The first stage was completed on Friday with an individual time trial in San Cristobal, on Saturday a circuit was completed in Puerto Ayora, and it closed on Sunday with a circuit in Baltra.
In the overall time accumulation, Montenegro finished first in the elite road category with 4 hours 1 minute 50 seconds, Stalin Puentestar (Saitel) finished with the same time, and Severo Espinoza (Tecnocyclo) took third place, 59 seconds behind the rider from Carchi.
In the women's category, Natalia Vásquez and Antonella Maldonado (LDU) finished in the top two positions, while Lizeth Pancha (Santa Cruz) finished in third place.
The 3rd edition of the international Galápagos Tour is over, a three-stage race won by Jorge Montenegro (Movistar). The race took place in Santa Cruz and San Cristobal, and featured the participation of Jhonatan Narváez (Ineos) and Jefferson Cepeda (Caja Rural) in an exhibition.

There were also races in the road for master and super master categories, with victories by Luis Chuga and Juan Carlos Ortega, respectively.
In the mountain bike category, Byron Lusintuña (San Cristóbal) took first place in the elite category, accompanied on the podium by Amable Puchancela and Klever Villacís, both riders from Santa Cruz.
Betty Tenezaca (San Cristóbal) won the women's category, followed by Sofía Oña and Angie Castro (Santa Cruz).
In this category, the pre-junior category was run, won by Jordan Naranjo from Santa Cruz, while in the master division, Fabricio Castillo (Santa Cruz) was the best rider.
The race took place under strict biosecurity controls and as a way to reactivate tourism in the enchanted islands. (D)
