Valencia continues to pursue Gonçalo Guedes as a possible signing for next season
Despite a notable decline in his performance and statistics in the second half of the season after a sensational start, the Valencia still has Portuguese international Gonçalo Guedes in mind for the upcoming season. Both the sports management and the higher echelons of Valencia's board are focused on signing the player from Paris Saint Germain.
However, even though they have the sword of Damocles hanging over them due to the limitations derived from financial fair play, the Ligue 1 champion will not let the player leave so easily. Nevertheless, this does not discourage Valencia, a team in which Guedes (21 years old) scored a total of 6 goals and provided 11 assists in 40 official matches.
As highlighted by the information found today in the Marca newspaper, Valencia has returned to the negotiating table with the intention of closing the signing of the Portuguese player as soon as possible. This decision was made after a meeting between President Anil Murthy, Director General Mateu Alemany, and owner Peter Lim in Turin. Now, all three protagonists are traveling to Paris with this goal in mind.
Therefore, we must pay close attention to the developments that will arise in the coming weeks regarding Gonçalo Guedes, who would be very open to continuing at Mestalla.
