The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is gradually receiving the Android Oreo 8.0 operating system update. As it usually happens with updates, some users are luckier than others when it comes to having the latest from Google.

But don't despair. There is a way to have the new Android on your S7 Edge without any problems.

Before we begin, please note that this tutorial only works with unlocked devices. The firmware version available for download is G935FXXU2ERD5. Also, remember to activate the PIN in the secure startup menu, as it will be requested after flashing the system.

The Movilzona website points out the following steps you must perform in order:

- Extract (unzip) the firmware file.
- Download Odin v3.12.7.
- Extract the Odin ZIP file.
- Open Odin v3.12.7.
- Restart the phone in "Download" mode (press and hold the Home + Power + Volume Down buttons).
- Connect the Galaxy S7 Edge and wait until you have the blue signal in Odin.
- Add the firmware files to the corresponding slots.
- Make sure that the repartition is not active.
- Press the Start button and wait a few minutes.

And that's it! Now you can enjoy the new Android on your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
